By David SalazarThe English National Opera (ENO) has announced that Jenny Mollica will be its Interim Chief Executive.
She takes over the position for Stuart Murphy who will leave this September.
In her new position, Mollica, who is currently the Director of Strategy and Engagement, will work alongside ENO Artistic Director Annilese Miskimmon, music director Martyn Brabbins, and the board.
“I am delighted to be appointed as Interim Chief Executive of the ENO and look forward to working closely with Annilese, Martyn and the ENO Board as we navigate the various challenges that our organization faces in the months ahead,” Mollica, who previously held the role of Director of Creative Learning at the Barbican and Guildhall School of Music & Drama, said in an official press statement on the company’s website. “The ENO’s future remains full of exciting possibilities and I am confident that as a company we will continue to evolve, adapt and thrive long into the future. The ENO has deep roots in creating daring, accessible and world class opera for everyone – pushing the boundaries of the art form, nurturing talent and widening access and engagement for audiences across the country. This remains core to our mission as we ready ourselves for a new chapter ahead.”
The company will begin a search for a permanent CEO this autumn.
