Elza van den Heever & Diana Damrau Lead Easter Festival Baden-Baden’s 2023 Season

The Festspielhaus Baden-Baden has announced its 2023 Easter Festival Baden-Baden.

The festival will present a production of R. Strauss’ “Die Frau ohne Schatten” directed by Lydia Steier. The production will star Clay Hilley, Elza van den Heever, Michaela Schuster, Wolfgang Koch, and Iréne Theorin. Kirill Petrenko will lead the Berliner Philharmoniker.

Performance Dates: April 1-9, 2023

Kirill Petrenko conducts Diana Damrau in R. Strauss’ “Four Last Songs.” The concert, which also features the Berliner Philharmoniker, will also include Ein Heldenleben.

Performance Date: April 7, 2023

Emmanuelle Haïm conducts Handel’s Oratorio “II trionfo del Tempo e del Disignanno.”

Performance Date: April 8, 2023

The festival also includes Daniel Harding conducting Mahler and Petrenko conducting a performance of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 8.
