
Dr. Zuly Inirio to Headline New Hazlett Theater’s ‘Sounds of the Season’
By David SalazarThe New Hazlett Theater in Pittsburgh will present “Sounds of the Season” on Dec. 13, 2025.
The showcase, set to commence at 7:30 p.m local time, will offer a festive program of jazz, soul, and global holiday music and is headlined by soprano Dr. Zuly Inirio, Cuban drummer and composer Hugo Cruz, and singer-songwriter Dr. Kendra Ross with vocalist Brendan Williams.
“It’s time to warm up the season with an unforgettable tapestry of songs and cheer that draws us all closer,” said Artistic Producer Melissa Cardello-Linton, per an official press release. “Join us for a truly special evening where Pittsburgh’s most incredible local voices shine brightly.”
Dr. Inirio is the founder of the Afro-Latinx Song & Opera Project and has performed all around the world at such venues as Carnegie Hall, among others.
Cruz is the leader of Caminos and has performed across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. Caminos, which will also be on the program, has appeared at the Pittsburgh International Jazz Festival, City of Asylum, Carnegie Museum of Art, and other regional stages.
Dr. Ross has appeared with Gregory Porter, Lalah Hathaway, and Babyface. Finally, Williams is known for performances in gospel and R&B, including appearances at the Vatican.
