The Donizetti Opera has announced its 2024 season marking its 10th edition.

The festival, which will be held between Nov. 15 and Dec. 1 will inaugurate with “Roberto Devereux.” The tragic opera will be performed in a critical edition by Julia Lockhart for Casa Ricordi realized as part of the National Edition with the collaboration and contribution of the Municipality of Bergamo and the Donizetti Theatre Foundation. Riccardo Frizza conducts the production by Stephen Langridge. Jessica Pratt, Simone Piazzola, Raffaella Lupinacci, and John Osborn lead the cast.

Performance Dates: Nov. 15-28, 2024

The Teatro Sociale will showcase “Zoraida di Granata,” a heroic melodrama on a libretto by Bartolomeo Merelli and Jacopo Ferretti in the critical edition by Edoardo Cavalli for the Donizetti Theatre Foundation. Alberto Zanardi conducts the production by Bruno Ravella. Konu Kim, Zuzana Marková, and Cecilia Molinari star.

The Donizetti Theatre will present “Don Pasquale” in a new critical edition by Roger Parker and Gabriele Dotto for Casa Ricordi, also produced as part of the National Edition. Iván López Reynoso conducts a cast that includes Roberto de Candia and Javier Camarena. Amélie Niermeyer directs.
