Diana Damrau, Elīna Garanča, Patricia Nolz & Fatma Said Lead Wiener Konzerthaus’ 2023-24 Season

The Wiener Konzerthaus has announced its 2023-24 season. Here is a look at the vocal performances.

Riccardo Chailly conducts a Verdi program with the chorus and orchestra of the Teatro alla Scala.

Performance Date: Sept. 4, 2023

The Bayerisches Staatsorchester will perform alongside Yefim Bronfman and Elsa Dreisig in a Schumann, Wagner, and Mahler program. Vladimir Jurowski conducts.

Performance Date: Sept. 23, 2023

Robin Ticciati conducts the Wiener Symphoniker in a Mahler program. Karen Cargill and Michael Spyres are the soloists.

Performance Dates: Oct. 7 & 8, 2023

The Cleveland Orchestra and Franz Welser-Möst will lead a Mahler program with Simon Keenlyside as a soloist.

Performance Date: Oct. 18, 2023

Verdi’s “Messa da Requiem” will be performed by Eleonora Buratto, Ekaterina Semenchuk, Michael Spyres, and Stefan Cerny. Omer Meir Wellber will conduct the Orchester der Volksoper Wien and Chor der Volksoper Wien.

Nathalie Peña-Comas, Wiener KammerOrchester, and Joji Hattori Moderation team up for a program of music by Luigi Boccherini, Maurice Ravel, Xavier Montsalvatge, Federico Moreno Torroba, José Serrano, Ruperto Chapí, and Jacques Ibert.

Performance Date: Nov. 9, 2023

Patricia Nolz and Malcolm Martineau perform a recital of music from Schumann and Brahms.

Performance Date: Nov. 15, 2023

Gerald Finley and Julius Drake perform a recital of music by Beethoven, Valentin Silvestrov, and Ralph Vaughan Williams.

The Pygmalion will be joined by Nikola Hillebrand, Lucile Richardot, Laurence Kilsby, and Christian Immler in a Bach program. Raphaël Pichon conducts.

The Plattform K+K Vienna and Fatma Said lead a program of music by Johannes Brahms, Camille Saint-Saëns, Ottorino Respighi, Sherif Mohie El Din, Richard Strauss, Astor Piazzolla, Manuel de Falla, Francis Poulenc, and George Gershwin.

Performance Date: Nov. 27, 2023

Michael Schade, Birgit Minichmayr, and Justus Zeyen perform Fanny Hensel, Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Clara and Robert Schumann, Franz Liszt, Alma Mahler, Hugo Wolf, and Alexander Zemlinsky.

Performance Date: Dec. 4, 2023

The Pygmalion will perform Mendelssohn’s “Elijah.” Siobhan Stagg, Julie Roset, Ema Nikolovska, Thomas Atkins, and Stéphane Degout are the soloists, and Raphaël Pichon conduct.

The Klangforum Wien will be joined by Magdalena Anna Hofmann, Joonas Ahonen, and conductor Sylvain Cambreling for Arnold Schönberg and Luigi Nono, Hannah Kendall, and Beat Furrer.

L’Orfeo Barockorchester and the Collegium Vocale Salzburg will be joined by Shira Patchornik, Margot Oitzinger, James Gilchrist, Alexander Grassauer, and Michi Gaigg in Bach’s Teile I, II und III.

The Wiener Symphoniker will perform Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 to ring in the New Year. Mari Eriksmoen, Wallis Giunta, Michael Schade, and Franz-Josef Selig are the soloists with Eli Danker Schauspiel and Omer Meir Wellber conducting.

Fatma Said and Joseph Middleton perform a recital of music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Franz Schubert, and Gustav Mahler.

The Wiener Philharmoniker will perform alongside Nicole Car and Philippe Jordan. The program includes music by Mendelssohn, Chausson, Britten, and Debussy.

Elīna Viļuma-Helling, Matias Bocchio, Gerald Preinfalk, Joonas Ahonen, and Florian Müller will perform under Beat Furrer. They will perform Furrer’s compositions.

Fatma Said joins the ORF Radio-Symphonieorchester Wien and Marin Alsop for a program of music by Ravel, Debussy, and Mahler.

Rising Star Axelle Fanyo performs alongside Kunal Lahiry in a recital of music by George Crumb, Maurice Ravel, Lili Boulanger, and Aaron Copland.

Constantinos Carydis conducts the Wiener Symphoniker in Anton Bruckner’s Te Deum. Louise Alder, Sophie Harmsen, Simon Bode, and Christof Fischesser. The concert also includes music by Hector Berlioz.

Fatma Said and Jakub Józef Orliński star in Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater with Il Giardino d’Amore and Stefan Plewniak.
