Deutsche Oper Berlin Announces Cast Changes for Several Productions

The Deutsche Oper Berlin has announced cast changes for multiple productions.

The company said that for all performances of “The Magic Flute,” Hye-Young Moon will be singing the part of Queen of the Night in place of Aigul Khismatullina.

Meanwhile, for March 17 and 24, 2023, Ursula Hesse von den Steinen will take over the role of Herodias in place of Petra Lang.

On March 18, Sara Jakubiak will take over the role of Arabella in place of Gabriela Scherer while on March 23, 26, 30, April 1, and 6, 2023, Gabriela Scherer will take over the role of Arabella in place of Rachel Willis-Sørensen.

For “La Forza del Destino,” Hulkar Sabirova will be singing the part of Donna Leonora in place of Liudmyla Monastyrska on March 25, April 2, 7, and 9, 2023.

The “St. Matthew Passion” performances on May 5, 13, 18, 21, 2023 will feature Joshua Ellicott taking over the role of the Evangelist in place of Sebastian Kohlhepp. Additionally, Artur Garbas takes over the parts of Pilate and Pontifex I in place of Dean Murphy.

The company added that for “Manon Lescaut” performances on May 11, 14, and 20, Irina Moreva will take over the title role in place of Anja Harteros while Maurizio Muraro will take over the role of Geronte De Ravoir in place of Patrick Guetti.
