The Deutsche Oper Berlin has announced a cast change for the production of “Il Trittico.”

The company noted that American contralto Lauren Decker will take over the role of La Zia Principessa in “Suor Angelica” on Dec. 9 and 14, 2023.

Decker is an American mezzo-soprano who was a quarterfinalist at the 2019 Operalia Competition in Prague and recently received the Richard F. Gold Career Scholarship. She was also a semifinalist at the 2018 Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. This season she is set to perform in the Deustche Oper Berin’s “Der Ring des Nibelungen.”

Decker joins a cast that includesMaria Motolygina and Natalie Lewis. John Fiore conducts the production by Pınar Karabulut.
