Jill Gardner, Lauren Decker & Alyson Cambridge Lead Toledo Opera’s 2022-23 Season

The Toledo Opera has announced its 2022-23 Season.

The company will return to Valentine Theatre and will celebrate its 64th season.

The season opens with Puccini’s “Suor Angelica” and Mascagni’s “Cavalleria Rusticana.” Maestro Geoffrey McDonald conducts the double bill with stage director Keturah Stickann helming. “Suor Angelica” stars soprano Jill Gardner as Angelica and contralto Lauren Decker as the Principessa while “Cavalleria Rusticana” stars soprano Jill Gardner as Santuzza, tenor Brian Cheney as Turridu, baritone Corey Crider as Alfio, and mezzo-soprano Lauren Decker as Mama Lucia.

Performance Dates: Oct. 14 & 16, 2022

“The Merry Widow” by Franz Lehár will be presented in English J. Ernest Green conducting the production by Jamie Offenbach and James M. Norman. Alyson Cambridge and Keith Phares star.

Performance Dates: Feb. 10 & 12, 2023

The Celebrazione del Coro showcases Great Opera Choruses with conductor Kevin Bylsma leading the renowned Toledo Opera Chorus and soloists accompanied by orchestra. Highlights will include famous choruses and arias from popular operas by Bizet, Verdi, Puccini, Bernstein, Wagner, and much more.
