The Deutsche Oper Berlin has announced a cast change for its Feb. 8 performance of “Die Frau ohne Schatten.”

The company said, “Lise Lindström takes over the role of the Dyer’s Wife from Catherine Foster.”

Lindström is known for her Turandot, Senta, Elektra, and Brünnhilde, and has performed at the Metropolitan Opera, San Francisco Opera, Vienna State Opera, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, La Scala, the Bavarian State Opera, the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Semperoper, the Hamburg State Opera, and the Palau de les Arts Valencia. She recently sang the role of the Dyer’s Wife in Cologne and the Metropolitan Opera. Of her Dyer’s Wife, OperaWire said, “Lindstrom has a tremendous stage presence, doing a lot with little. She’s stoic on stage, but there’s fire in her eyes.”

She is set to join a cast that includes David Butt Philip, Daniela Köhler, Marina Prudenskaya, Patrick Guetti Hye-Young Moon, and Jordan Shanahan. Sir Donald Runnicles conducts the production by Tobias Kratzer.
