
Deutsche Oper Berlin Announces Cast Changes for ‘Die Frau Ohne Schatten’
By Francisco SalazarThe Deutsche Oper Berlin has announced cast changes for its production of “Die Frau ohne Schatten.”
The company said “Daniela Köhler will sing and play the part of the Empress instead of Jane Archibald and Clay Hilley will sing and plays the part of the Emperor instead of David Butt Philip. We wish both of them strength and success for their short-term replacement. Thank you for your understanding.”
Both artists will perform the opera on Jan. 25, 30, Feb. 2, and 5, 2025. Additionally, Köhler will perform on Feb. 8, and 11, 2025.
The company also announced that Axel Kober will take over the baton from Sir Donald Runnicles on Feb. 11, 2025.
“Die Frau ohne Schatten” is set to star Clay Hilley, David Butt Philip, Daniela Köhler, Marina Prudenskaya, Patrick Guetti, Hye-Young Moon, Chance Jonas-O’Toole, Nina Solodovnikova, Stephanie Wake-Edwards, Jordan Shanahan, Catherine Foster, Philipp Jekal, Padraic Rowan, Thomas Cilluffo, Alexandra Oomens, Arianna Manganello, Lilit Davtyan, Martina Baroni, Stephen Marsh, Kyle Miller, Geon Kim, and Harald Heinz.
Sir Donald Runnicles and Axel Kober conduct the production Tobias Kratzer.
