
Deutsche Oper am Rhein Announces Two Cast Changes for ‘La Traviata’
By Francisco SalazarThe Deutsche Oper am Rhein has announced a cast change for its March 14, 2025 performance of “La Traviata.”
The company said that Maria Novella Malfatti will sing the role of Violetta replacing Adela Zaharia, who is ill. The company also noted that Ioan Hotea will sing the role of Alfredo replacing Alexey Neklyudov.
Malfatti took to social media and said, “With great joy, I am thrilled to announce that tonight I will have the honor of debuting at the @operamrhein in ‘La Traviata’! Due to a last-minute change, l will be stepping in for the marvelous Adela Zaharia and I am truly grateful for this extraordinary opportunity. It’s an incredible privilege to sing in such a prestigious venue, so I can’t wait to share this experience with you all! I am super excited for this new adventure and looking forward to see you all tonight.”
Malfatti and Hotea will join a cast that includes Alexey Zelenkov. Killian Farrell conducts.
