Denyce Graves, Sinéad Campbell Wallace, Étienne Dupuis Headline Washington National Opera’s 2024-25 Season

Washington National Opera announced its 2024-25 season.

It all starts with Beethoven’s “Fidelio” starring Sinéad Campbell Wallace, Jamez McCorkle, Derek Welton, David Leigh, and Denyce Graves. Robert Spano conducts a production by Francesca Zambello.

Performance Dates: Oct. 25 – Nov. 4, 2024

Robert Spano conducts “Gods and Mortals: A Celebration of Wagner.” The concert features Christine Goerke and Brandon Jovanovich.

Performance Date: Oct. 26, 2024

Evan Rogister conducts Brenna Corner’s production of “Macbeth” with a cast starring Étienne Dupuis, Ewa Plonka, Kang Wang, and Soloman Howard.

Performance Dates: Nov. 13 – 23, 2024

Kamala Sankaram and Kelley Rourke’s “Jungle Book” will get a production by Francesca Zambello and Brenna Corner. Stephanie Rhodes Russell conducts.

Performance Dates: Dec. 13 – 15, 2024

Key’mon Murrah performs in the Marian Anderson Vocal Award Recital.

Performance Dates: Dec. 17, 2024

Then comes the American Opera Initiative Performance, conducted by George Manahan and featuring works by composers Kyle Brenn, JL Marlor, and Omar Najmi, and librettists Clare Fuyuko Bierman, Lex Brown, and Christine Evans.

Performance Dates: Jan. 18, 2025

John Moore, Winona Martin, Wei Wu, Jonathan Burton, and Justin Burgess star in “The (R)evolution of Steve Jobs.” Lidiya Yankovskaya conducts a production by Tomer Zvulun, revived by director Rebecca Herman.

Performance Dates: May 2 – 10, 2025

Marin Alsop conducts “American Rhapsody.” The showcase features Renée Fleming, Denyce Graves, and Thomas Hapmpson.

Performance Dates: May 3, 2025

Michael Sumuel, Reginald Smith Jr., Brittany Renee, Alyson Cambridge, Denyce Graves, Vuvu Mpofu, Amber Monroe, Chauncey Packer, Ben Taylor, Norman Garrett, and Kenneth Kellog lead “Porgy & Bess.” Kwamé Ryan conducts the Francesca Zambello production.

Performance Dates: May 23 – 31, 2025
