Daniela Barcellona & Alessandro Vitiello to Hold Third Edition of Masterclasses in Trieste

Mezzo-soprano Daniela Barcellona and conductor Alessandro Vitiello are set to return to Trieste from Sept. 4 to 10, 2023.

They will both be teachers of the Opera Singing Masterclass organized by the Rotary Club Trieste in collaboration with the Municipality of Trieste and with the artistic direction of Enzo Semeraro.

According to a press release, the Masterclass will be open to all students and to those having graduated from high schools, conservatories, and private or charter Music schools; the lessons will be held in the Teatro “Giuseppe Verdi” di Trieste. Additionally, the best students will take part in the final concert on Sept. 10 in the “Victor de Sabata” Hall in the Theater Verdi.

The project began in November 2021 and the second edition saw the participation of young singers from all over the world.

Barcellona is an internationally renown mezzo who has performed at the Teatro alla Scala, Metropolitan Opera, Bayerische Staatsoper, Wiener Staatsoper, Salzburg Festival, and Rossini Opera Festival, among others. Meanwhile, Vitiello has conducted at the Wexford Opera Festival and Teatro Verdi di Trieste, among others.
