
Daniel Harding & Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia to Open Festival Internazionale di Musica e Arte Sacra

The XXIII Festival Internazionale di Musica e Arte Sacra is set to open with the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia on Oct. 23, 2024.
The concert will be conducted by Daniel Harding at the Basilica Papale di San Paolo fuori le Mura.
Harding will conduct Verdi’s “Messa da Requiem” with soprano Masabane Cecilia Rangwanasha, Yulia Matochkina, Charles Castronovo, and Roberto Tagliavini.
The festival, which is set to take place between Nov. 15 and 19, will pay tribute to Puccini and Anton Bruckner and will showcase Concerto Köln, Swiss National Orchestra, Vokalensemble Kölner Dom, St. Florianer Sängerknaben, coro dell’Escolanía del Escorial, and l’IlluminArt Chorus. The concerts will take place in Rome and at the Vatican.
Harding will open the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia season with Puccini’s “Tosca” staring Eleonora Buratto, Jonathan Tetelman and Ludovic Tézier. The performanes will be recorded for CD by Deutsche Grammophon.
