Damiano Michieletto’s ‘Primeravera’ Set for Toronto International Film Festival

Damiano Michieletto’s debut film “Primavera” is set to make its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.

The Italy-France co-production tells the story of a talented violinist, Cecilia, confined in an orphanage, who meets Vivaldi and becomes his student. Under his mentorship and through his music, she gains courage to break free from the life she was destined for and pursue her passion.

The film stars  Tecla Insolia as Cecilia and Michele Riondino as Antonio Vivaldi. The film is produced by Warner Bros Italia and Indigo Film, in collaboration with Moana Films.

Michieletto is one of the most acclaimed directors in the world who has directed at the Rossini Opera Festival, Teatro alla Scala, Grand Théâtre de Genève, New National Theatre, Theater an der Wien, the Royal Opera, Teatro La Fenice, and Dutch National Opera, among others.
