
Dame Sarah Connolly Headlines St. Endellion Summer Festival 2026

Here’s a look at the opera events.
First up is “Choral Evensong,” featuring works by Charles Villiers Stanford, Joanna Forbes, and Ralph Vaughan Williams.
Performance Date: July 28, 2026
Roderick Williams, Rachel Nicholls, Joely Koos and Peter Hoare are soloists with the Truro Cathedral Choristers, and Festival Chorus and Orchestra. Paul Daniel conducts. Victoria Newlyn hosts the celebration of Britten, Puccini, and Arvo Pärt.
Performance Date: July 29, 2026
A new version of Britten’s “War Requiem” created especially for smaller venues gets its world premiere. Roderick Williams, Ed Lyon and Rachel Nicholls perform with the Truro Cathedral choristers and Festival Chorus.

“Sung Eucharist” features a pieces by Harold Darke, Jonathan Dove, and a new work by Roderick Williams.

Rosalind Ridout directs the family concert “Wonderland.”

Marking the centenary of its premiere, Julian Close, Nicholas Watts, Jonathan Cooke, Gareth Brynmor John, and Andrew Slater perform in Puccini’s “Turandot” with members of the Cornwall Youth Choirs and the Festival Chorus and Orchestra. Paul Daniel, conducts and Bill Bankes-Jones directs.

“Roderick Williams and friends” features songs from Schubert’s “Die Schöne Müllerin” along with other pieces.

Dame Sarah Connolly sings Chausson’s “Poème de l’Amour et de la Mer” in a new chamber ensemble version by Paul Daniel, and other works.

Sian Edwards leads Dame Sarah Connolly and the Festival Orchestra and Chorus in the concert “Tame Birds Sing of Freedom,” which features the world premiere of Tom Hickox’s “The Doyden Kestrel” among other works.
