Curtis Institute of Music Announces 2026-27 Season

The Curtis Institute of Music has announced its 2026–27 season.

Words Like Freedom: To Langston with Love” will be curated by Grammy Award winner Karen Slack (’02).

Performance Date: Oct. 17, 2026


On the opera front,  the company will present Carlisle Floyd’s “Susannah,” conducted by Rita E. Hauser Conducting Fellow Mariana Corichi Gómez in a new production by multi-disciplinary artist Mikhaela Mahony at the Philadelphia Film Center.

Performance Dates: Nov. 19 & 21, 2026


Haydn’s “Orlando Paladino” will be conducted by Nicholas McGegan and directed by Eve Summer.

Performance Dates: Feb. 18 & 20, 2027


Debussy’s “Pelléas et Mélisande” will be conducted by Evan Rogister and directed by John Matsumoto Giampietro.

Performance Dates: April 30 & May 2, 2027


“Portrait of Julia Wolfe” will celebrate this year’s composer in residence.

Performance Date: Spring 2027
