
Curtis Opera Theatre Announces 2025-26 Season
By Francisco SalazarThe Curtis Opera Theatre has announced its 2025-26 season.
The school will collaborate with renowned conductors, directors, and designers to present fresh and passionate performances from across the operatic repertoire.
The first production of the season will be Monteverdi’s “L’Orfeo” with David Stern, music director of Palm Beach Opera, conducting the musicians of the Curtis Symphony Orchestra. The cast includes tenor Harun Ellis Tekin as Orfeo, soprano Juliet Renée Rand as Euridice, bass-baritone Sebastian Wittmoser Herrera as Plutone, soprano Jennifer Robinson as Proserpina, mezzo-soprano Maisy Parker as Speranza, tenor Landry Allen as Apollo, soprano Maya Mor-Mitrani as La Musica/Eco, bass-baritone Edward Smith as Cartone, and mezzo-soprano Carlyle Quinn as Messaggera. John Matsumoto Giampietro directs.
Performance Dates: Nov. 14 & 16, 2025
The season continues with “La Passion de Simone,” from Finnish composer Kaija Saariaho and Lebanese-born librettist Amin Maalou. Acclaimed director Marcus Shields and conductor Marc Lowenstein lead the work.
Performance Dates: Feb. 26 & 28, 2026
The season concludes with Britten’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” with critically acclaimed director Sarah Ina Meyers directing and Vinay Parameswaran leading the cast and orchestra.
Performance Dates: April 30 & May 2, 2026
