Countertenor Jeffrey Palmer to Make Carnegie Hall Debut

Countertenor Jeffery Palmer and pianist Irena Portenko will perform “Hygge” at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall on Jan. 8, 2020.

The performance, which will be Palmer’s Carnegie Hall debut, will present an eclectic program that explores the concept of “cozy.”

The program will include music from Gluck’s “Orfeo ed Euridice,” Handel’s “Giulio Cesare” and “Serse” as well as music by Debussy, Schumann, Chopin, Schubert, Huang, Piazzolla, Chaminade, Rachmaninoff, Björk, Barber, and Sondheim. The concert will also showcase the New York Premiere of Araujo’s “Nine Portraits for Piano Solo.” Additionally, Zachary Hoffman will perform as a guest pianist.

Palmer has performed all around the world, including Europe and China and recently released his first full-length album “Beauty.” He was also featured on the 2016 Netflix documentary “Amanda Knox.”
