Coro Allegro Announces ‘In the Clearing’ Concert

By David Salazar

Boston’s Coro Allegro will present “In the Clearing” on May 18, 2025.

The showcase, which kicks off at 3 p.m. local time, will feature Kenneth Fuchs’ eponymous piece, which includes a cappella settings of Robert Frost’s poetry. Complimenting this piece will be Mozart’s “Vesperae solennes de confessore,” K. 339. This work will showcase the talents of soprano Dana Varga, mezzo-soprano Clare McNamara, tenor Jonas Budris, Tenor, and baritone Ron Williams.

The program will take place at the Church of the Covenant on Newbury Street.

Founded in 1991, the LGBTQ+ ensemble won the Chorus America / ASCAP Award for Adventurous Programming in 2019. It has conducted 23 world premieres, including 14 commissions.
