Coro Allegro will present “Forged in Fire” on Nov. 17, 2024 at the Church of the Covenant in Boston.

The showcase will feature Kodály’s “Missa Brevis” as well as works by Rich Campbell (“Borders”), Anton Bruckner (“Three Motets”), and Bosba (“i see others like me”).

The ensemble will be joined by organist Jerrick Cavagarno. Artistic Director David Hodgkins conducts the performance, which kicks off at 3 p.m. local time.

Founded in 1991, the LGBTQ+ ensemble won the Chorus America / ASCAP Award for Adventurous programming in 2019. It has conducted 23 world premieres, including 14 commissions.

This season includes works of great beauty, grace, and energy and many of the compositions reflect upon issues facing us as a society, such as immigration, war, and the search for belonging.
