
Côr Y Boro to Perform at Swansea University Dylan Thomas Prize’s Shortlist Celebration
By David SalazarCôr Y Boro (Borough Welsh Choir) will perform at the Swansea University Dylan Thomas Prize’s Shortlist Celebration on May 13, 2026 at The British Library in London.
The evening, hosted at The King’s Library stage, will open with remarks from Dr. Elaine Canning, Director of the Swansea University Dylan Thomas Prize, before welcoming the choir’s live appearance.
The six shortlisted authors will then read from their nominated works: Harriet Armstrong (“To Rest Our Minds and Bodies”), Colwill Brown (“We Pretty Pieces of Flesh”), Sasha Debevec-McKenney (“Joy Is My Middle Name”), Suzannah V. Evans (“Under the Blue”), Seán Hewitt (“Open, Heaven”), and Derek Owusu (“Borderline Fiction”).
Award-winning Nigerian British author Irenosen Okojie, MBE, chairs the judging panel.
The Swansea University Dylan Thomas Prize is the world’s largest literary award for writers aged 39 and under, worth £20,000. Named after the Swansea-born poet and writer, the prize recognizes fiction, poetry, short stories, and drama. Previous winners include Patricia Lockwood, Raven Leilani, Caleb Azumah Nelson, and Max Porter.
The winner will be announced on International Dylan Thomas Day, May 14, at an evening ceremony in Swansea.
