Composer George Lewis Signs Exclusive Long-Term Publishing Agreement with Edition Peters

Composer George Lewis has signed a long-term exclusive publishing contract with Edition Peters, part of Wise Music Group.
Lewis is the composer of the opera “The Comet,” which was performed at Running AMOC Festival* this summer and was named as a finalist for the 2025 Pulitzer Prize in Music.
“Since my first moments with Edition Peters, the visibility (and audibility!) of my music has been greatly enhanced,” said Lewis, who is also a MacArthur Fellow, Doris Duke Artist, and Yamaha Artist, per an official press release. “I see an amazing future in this new development with the Wise team.”
Lewis continues to serve as Professor of Music at Columbia University and Artistic Director of the International Contemporary Ensemble. Some of his works are set for upcoming premieres with the New York Philharmonic, Philharmonie Luxembourg, and Birmingham Contemporary Music Group, among others.
