Hannah Eisendle Signs with Boosey & Hawkes
By Francisco SalazarAustrian-born composer, conductor, and pianist Hannah Eisendle has signed with Boosey & Hawkes for publishing agreement.
Regarding her new contract, Eisendle said, “I’ve always had a strong preference for works of the 20th and 21st centuries, so I have repeatedly held scores published by Boosey & Hawkes in my hands in recent years—both as a composer and as a conductor—and have studied them with great admiration. I feel honored to know that I am now joining those composers who are particularly important to me. What a great pleasure it is to be with a publishing house that is so committed to promoting contemporary compositions!”
Boosey & Hawkes will publish new and previously unpublished works. The partnership will launch with the world premiere of “Azinheira” on July 6 under Joana Carneiro, co-commissioned by the Carinthian Summer Festival and the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra.
Eisendle’s compositions are inspired by extra-musical impressions, images and other art forms, which she transforms into sound events. Her orchestral work “heliosis,” commissioned by the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, recently caused a sensation. The world premiere in March 2022 under the direction of Marin Alsop was followed by performances in Madrid and Paris, as well as at the BBC Proms.
She has worked with the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Tonkünstler Orchestra of Lower Austria, the Göttingen Symphony Orchestra, the Vienna Concert-Verein, the Johann Strauss Festival Orchestra Vienna, and as a musical assistant with the Orchestre National de France and the Norddeutsche Philharmonie Rostock.
She has also received commissions from the Vienna RSO, the Vienna Concert-Verein, and the Carinthian Summer festival, among others. Performers of her works include Marin Alsop, Giedrė Šlekytė, Joana Carneiro, Manfred Honeck and Cristian Măcelaru.
