Claudia Pavone, Maria Mudryak & Chiara Amarù Lead Teatro Verdi Pisa’s 2023-24 Season

The Teatro Verdi Pisa has announced its 2023-24 season featuring five operas and four new productions.

The season opens with Rossini’s “Il Barbiere di Siviglia” in a new production by Luigi De Angelis. The cast includes Chiara Amarù, Gurgen Baveyan, Dave Monaco, Arutro Espinosa and Roberto Abbondanza. Francesco Pasqualetti conducts.

Performance Dates: Oct. 27 & 29, 2023

Puccini’s “La Rondine” will be presented in a new production by Paul Emile Fourny and will star Claudia Pavone, Maria Laura Iacobellis, Matteo Falcier, Vassily Solodkyy, and Fernando Cisneros. Valerio Galli conducts.

Performance Dates: Dec. 1 & 3, 2023

Monteverdi’s “L’incoronazione di Poppea” returns to the Pisa stage after 30 years in production by legendary director Pierluigi Pizzi. Roberta Mameli, Federico Fiorio, Enrico Torre, and José Maria Lo Monaco. Antonio Greco conducts the Orchestra Monteverdi Festival – Cremona Antiqua.

Performance Dates: Jan. 12 & 14, 2024

Puccini’s “La bohème” will be conducted by Nicola Paszkoski and will star Vittoria Magnarello as Mimì Alessia Pintossi as Musetta, Christian Federici as Marcello, and Alessandro Scotto di Luzio as Rodolfo.

Performance Dates: Feb. 2 & 4, 2024

The season concludes with Mozart’s “Così fan tutte” in a new production by Stefano Vizioli. Maria Mudryak leads the cast which includes Lilly Jørstad, Jiri Rajinis, Francesca Cuccuzza, Emanuele Cordaro, and Antonio Mandrillo.

Performance Dates: March 15 & 17, 2024
