City Opera Vancouver has unveiled a slate of free summer concerts.

The Friday performances will take place at Sun Yat-Sen Courtyard in Chinatown while Saturday shows will be featured at the Milton Wong Plaza in Olympic Village. Finally, the Sunday concerts will take place at The Roundhouse Turntable in Yaletown.

The first concert is “Ukrainochka,” dedicated to the music of Ukraine. Singers Taryn Plater and Olesia Shewchuk will perform alongside pianist Anna Sagalovak.

Performance Dates: August 4-6, 2023

Next up is “Donizetti and the ‘ini’s'” featuring music by Rossini, Bellini, and Donizetti. Spencer Britten and Yenny Lee will sing alongside pianist Roger Parton.

Performance Dates: August 11-13, 2023

“Paired Pairings” will showcase duets as performed by Chloe Hurst and Emma Parkinson. Roger Parton accompanies at the piano.

Performance Dates: August 18-20, 2023

Finally, Yuhui Wang and Alyssa Samson, accompanied by Roger Parton, perform Filipino and Chinese songs in “Manila to Beijing Direct.”
