The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra has unveiled new leadership for its 2025-26 season.

The company revealed that Charla Weiss was appointed to the position of Board Chair. Meanwhile, Nick Apanius, Emma Compton, Dean Mouas, and Brett Stover were added to the board. Gregory Lee is the Chief Financial Officer, and Hannah Ross is the new Director of Learning.

“As we enter the 2025–26 season, I am pleased to welcome Charla Weiss as our new Board Chair. After a distinguished career at Cincinnati Children’s Medical Center, where she championed health equity and community partnerships, Charla brings a deep and genuine passion for access and inclusion—values that align with our belief that music should be for everyone. With her leadership, we remain committed to ensuring that the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra is a place where all feel welcomed and inspired,” said CSO President and CEO Robert McGrath.

Weiss will lead the company as it commences the new tenure of Cristian Măcelaru as the 14th music director in the organization’s history.

“It is an honor to serve as Board Chair at such a dynamic moment in the life of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. I am deeply grateful to Dianne Rosenberg for her exceptional leadership and steady guidance, shaping the path that has brought us to this exciting new chapter. I have been inspired by the dedication of my fellow Board members over the years, and I am especially excited to welcome four exceptional new colleagues—Nick Apanius, Emma Compton, Dean Moulas and Brett Stover—whose perspectives will be invaluable as we deepen our commitment to artistic excellence, education and service to the broader community,” added CSO Board Chair Charla Weiss. “This is a pivotal moment for the institution, as we welcome both Robert McGrath as our new President and CEO and Cristian Măcelaru as our new Music Director. I look forward to partnering with them and our remarkable staff and musicians to support the Orchestra’s continued growth and impact.”

The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra season commences on Oct. 3 and 4, 2025, with a program of works by Gershwin, Anna Clyne, and Strauss.
