Cincinnati Opera Announces 2024 ‘Opera Raps’

Cincinnati Opera’s “Opera Raps” series returns for the 2024 season. “Opera Raps” aspires to pull back the curtain and reveal behind-the-scenes insights into the operas that make up the company’s 2024 Summer Festival.

The series kicks off with “Hausmusik: Mozart and Friends at Home” in anticipation its upcoming production of “Don Giovanni.”

Performance Date: January 25, 2024

Dame Jane Glover leads a discussion inspired by her book, “Mozart’s Women: His Family, His Friends, His Music” (Harper, 2006). “Don Giovanni” cast members sopranos Jessica Rivera and Erin Keesy perform numbers from the opera.

Performance Date: January 26, 2024

“The Beatles Phenomenon” takes place leading up to the Cincinnati Opera’s July 2024 world stage premiere of “Paul McCartney’s Liverpool Oratorio.”

Performance Date: March 6, 2024

Audiences are invited to this exclusive glimpse into the creation of “Paul McCartney’s Liverpool Oratorio.” Director Caroline Clegg, designer Leslie Travers, and choreographer Michael Pappalardo will offer insights into their creative vision.

Performance Date: March 28, 2024

As a preview to Cincinnati Opera’s 2024 production of Giuseppe Verdi’s “La Traviata” stage director Trevore Ross will discuss his views directorial choices in “Violetta’s Chosen Family.” The evening will include excerpts performed by soprano Dana Pundt and tenor Pedro Barbosa.
