Christina Daletska & Ilse Eerens to Perform in the Basel Sinfonietta’s 2024-25 Season

The Basel Sinfonietta has announced its 2024-25 lineup.

For the purposes of this article only opera-related events are included.

Mezzo-soprano Christina Daletska performs Basel Sinfonietta’s newly commissioned pieces in “Them and Us.” The first piece is Sergej Newski’s work, “Göttin der Geschichte” for mezzo-soprano and orchestra, with text based on the work of Lithuanian composer Thomas Venclova. Also on the concert is “Ein sicherer Hafen” (“A Safe Harbour”) by Stefan Keller, for mezzo-soprano, narrator and orchestra based on words by Melinda Nadj Abonji and Iryna Shuvalova. Raphael Clamer serves as narroratot. Titus Engel conducts.

Soprano Ilse Eerens stars in “From Maria To Fatimah.” The concert focuses on work by women composers such as Lera Auerbach, Liza Lim, and Helga Arias. Jessica Cottis conducts.

Performance Date: January 26, 2025

The world premiere of Moritz Eggert’s “Die Tiefe Des Raumes – Ein Fussballoratorium Für Basel” (“The Depth Of The Field – A Soccer Oratorio For Basel”) is presented by the SATB soloists, the Singers of the Theater Basel, the Choir and Extra Choir of the Theater Basel, former international player Beni Huggel, and Beni Thurnheer. Wolfgang Bortlik and Michael Klaus wrote the libretto.
Titus Engel conducts the Basel Sinfonietta.
