Quiteria Muñoz to Perform at Almagro International Classical Theatre Festival 2025

By Afton Markay

The Almagro International Classical Theatre Festival has announced that soprano Quiteria Muñoz is set to perform on its 2025 program.

Muñoz will perform in “Origen. La semilla de los tiempos” and “Spain On Fire,” with Accademia del Piacere.

“Origen. La semilla de los tiempos” is a seven-act rhapsody that travels between past and present, in which jácaras, pasacalles, marionettes, and zarabandas highlight the connection between Baroque music and flamenco music. Flamenco singer Amparo Lagares, guitarist and arranger Dani de Morón, and the Ballet Flamenco de Andalucía round out the cast. Artistic and choreographic direction is by Patricia Guerrero. Fahmi Alqhai conducts.

“Spain On Fire,” showcases Accademia del Piacerea’s latest album. The album by the same name draws on the diversity and cultural richness of the 16th and 17th centuries and is inspired by the divine and human passions of the Spanish Baroque. In this concert, the ensemble and Muñoz will be accompanied on stage by actor José Luis García Pérez.

Performances will take place on July 18 and 19, respectively, on the stage of the Old Renaissance University in Almagro.
