Choral Arts Initiative Announces 2022-23 Season
By David SalazarCalifornia-based Choral Arts Initiative has announced its 11th season.
The season kicks off with “HOME,” which will take place at St. Mark Presbyterian Church. Conducted by Artistic Director Brandon Elliott, the concert will feature West Coast premieres by Michael Gilbertson and Ayanna Woods as well as world premieres by Dale Trumbore and Dylan Trần. There will also be music by Julia Adolphe and Eric Whitacre.
Performance Date: Sunday, Nov. 6, 2022
Next up the company will present Kile Smith’s “Canticle.” The showcase will feature cellists Jocelyn Francis, Michael Phillips, and Eddie Chang Yue as well as percussionist Christina Cheon.
Performance Date: Sunday, March 5, 2023
For the spring season, the company will present “ECHOES” at St. Wilfrid’s Episcopal Church. The concert will include music by Rex Iseberg as West Coast premieres by Joel Thompson, B.E. Boykin, and Ariel Sol Bertulfo Schwartz, and a world premiere by Derrick Skye.

The season draws to a close with “PREMIERI Project Festival.”
