Chicago Fringe Opera to Present ‘Two Remain (Out of Darkness)’

Chicago Fringe Opera has announced that it will present “Two Remain (Out of Darkness)” starting on March 26, 2022.

The opera by Jake Heggie and Gene Scheer is based on the journals of Krystyna Zywulska and Gad Beck, two Holocaust survivors. It will be directed by Derek Van Barham with Catherine O’Shaughnessy conducting.

Taking on the role of Krystyna is Clarissa Parrish Short;  Bridget Skaggs will appear Zosia, while Anna Caldwell interprets Krysia. As Edka, audiences will see Lauren Ingebrigtsen and as Mariola, Alex Salas will star. Jonathan Wilson interprets the role of Manfred and Peter Vamvakas appears as Gad Beck. The production also stars dancers Roy Samra and Connor Giles.

The opera is set to run through April 3, 2022 for a total of five performances.
