By Logan Martell

Central City Opera’s Education and Community Engagement program is set to present the return of “Frida Kahlo and the Bravest Girl in the World.”

This new opera premiered at the Denver Art Museum in November 2021, and will now be brought back for three more performances around the metro region as part of CCO’s annual Family Series.

Audiences can follow Mariana, a young girl who develops a friendship with the famous painter and learns more about her life and art.

The March 27 performance will be held at Centro San Juan Diego in Denver; the April 2 performance will be at the People’s Building in Aurora; and the April 3 performance will take place at Prospect Hall in Wheat Ridge.

The show has a run time of 35 minutes, followed by an optional Q & A with the artists.
