Central City Opera Announces New Production to 2025 Season

The company said that it will showcase the Broadway musical “Once Upon A Mattress.”
The company added, “We are thrilled to bring this hilarious, heartwarming twist on a classic fairy tale to the Opera House mainstage. Packed with golden-age Broadway tunes, clever humor, and larger-than-life characters, ‘Once Upon A Mattress’ offers a delightful mix of whimsy and vocal brilliance—perfect for anyone who loves music, laughter, and happily-ever-afters.”
The season will also include productions of Rossini’s “The Barber of Seville” and Aleksandra Vrebalov and Deborah Brevoort’s “The Knock” as previously announced. The season will take place between June 28 and August 3, 2025, and will be the first festival programmed by newly appointed Artistic Director Alison Moritz.
