Central City Opera has announced an additional evening performance of Terrence McNally’s “Master Class” on July 31 at 7:30 p.m., following overwhelming ticket demand.

Mezzo-soprano Marcia Ragonetti will star as Maria Callas for this performance.

Ragonetti, a Denver-area favorite with a four-decade performance history in the region, is a recipient of Westword’s “Best Diva” award and a Colorado Theatre Guild Henry Award nominee for her portrayal of Callas in the same production at Miners Alley Playhouse.

“Master Class” opens on July 18, 2026 and runs through July 31 for a total of seven performances; there will be two performances on July 31 with a 2 p.m. showcase preceding the newly added one at 7:30 p.m.
