
George and Nora London Foundation for Singers to Present Shelén Hughes Camacho & Joseph Parrish
By Francisco SalazarThe George and Nora London Foundation for Singers is set to present Shelén Hughes Camacho and Joseph Parrish in a program titled “A Love Letter to the Americas.”
The program, which will be held on April 30, will feature works by Mozart, Puccini, Hall Johnson, Eduardo Caba, Julián Aguirre, Moses Hogan, and others, at Merkin Hall at Kaufman Music Center.
Pianist Amir Farid, guitarist Diego Fernández, and percussionist Daniel Jimenez will join the two singers.
Camacho made her European debut at Frankfurt Opera and has performed at the Blossom Music Festival. She is the winner of the Florence and Paul DeRosa Prize and Zarzuela/Operetta division of the Gerda Lissner Competition. Parrish has perform at the Salzburger Festspiele and Carnegie Hall.He has also appeared with the Maryland Symphony, Anchorage Symphony, and the Oratorio Society of New York at Carnegie Hall.
