The Opéra de Monte-Carlo has announced a cast change for its production of “Aida.”

The company said, “We would like to inform you that, for personal reasons, Artur Rucinski will not be able to perform as Amonasro in Aida from November 16 to 22, 2025. However, we are pleased to announce that he will be replaced by Ludovic Tézier.”

Tézier is one of the great baritones of his generation who has performed the role of Amonasro at the Royal Opera House, Arena di Verona, and the Paris Opera, among others.

He is set to join a cast that includes Marie-Nicole Lemieux, Anna Pirozzi, Arsen Soghomonyan, and Erwin Schrott. Massimo Zanetti conducts the production by Davide Livermore.
