
Cast Change: Lidia Fridman Replaces Elena Stikhina in ‘Salome’ at the Wiener Staatsoper

The company said that Lidia Fridman will replace Elena Stikhina in the title role.
Fridman took to social media and said, “With immense joy and excitement, I can finally announce my return to the Wiener Staatsoper, with a role I deeply adore and carry close to my heart: ‘Salome.’ Richard Strauss’ Salome is a universe of intensity, obsession, fragility and fire and stepping back into her world, on this extraordinary stage, under the baton of M° @sebastianweigle, in a production by Cyril Teste, feels incredibly special.”
Fridman is known for her Salome having performing the role at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and the Immling Festival. She has performed at the Teatro La Fenice, Staatsoper Hannover, Teatro Regio di Torino, Teatro Municipale Piacenza, and Teatro dell’Opera di Roma.
Fridman is set to join a cast that includes Gerhard Siegel, Monika Bohinec, Tomasz Konieczny, and Daniel Jenz.
“Salome” opens on may 1 and runs through May 10, 2026.
