Cast Change: Galeano Salas To Replace Pavol Breslik

Pavol Breslik has canceled tonights performance of “Il Trittico”

The Bayerische Staatsoper announced that due to illness he would not be able to perform the role of Rinuccio in “Gianni Schicchi.” As a result, Galeano Salas will take over.

The Mexican-American tenor is in the second season in the Studio of the Bayerische Staatsoper where he is currently covering Rinuccio. This season he is also scheduled for Lord Arturo Bucklaw in “Lucia di Lammermoor,” Mitrane in “Semiramide” and Ein Jüngling in “Die Gezeichneten.”

Last season he made his debut in Munich as Gastone in “La Traviata” with Placido Domingo, Diana Damrau and Charles Castronovo. He also sang Lord Arturo Bucklaw in “Lucia di Lammermoor,” Magician in “The Consul,” Wilhelm in “Les Contes d’Hoffmann” and was also included in the casts of “Don Carlo,” “La Bohème,” “Mefistofole,” “Boris Godunov,” “Ariadne auf Naxos” and “Nabucco.”

Salas has also performed with the Santa Fe Opera and is a winner of a number of awards including the 10ème Concours de Chant de Canari, the VI Concurso Internacional de Canto, Alfredo Kraus, and the 2016 Gerda Lissner Foundation International Voice Competition.

Breslik returns to “Il Trittico” on Dec. 30 and Jan. 1. He will also return to the production for the Munich Opera Festival.
