Cast Change: Galeano Salas Steps into More ‘Rigoletto’ Performances at Teatro alla Scala

By Francisco Salazar

The Teatro alla Scala has announced a new cast change for its production of “Rigoletto.”

The company said, “Due to the persistence of an illness, Dmitry Korchak has to withdraw from the performances of Rigoletto on 10, 13, and 16 October. The role of the Duke of Mantua will be performed by Galeano Salas.”

Salas opened the production on Oct. 7, making his La Scala debut, also replacing Kochak.

The tenor has performed at the Bayerische Staatsoper, Arena di Verona, Teatro Regio Torino, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, the Opéra Royal de Wallonie-Liège, Semperoper Dresden, and Teatro Colón. He has performed the role of the Duke at the Hungarian State Opera and Teatro Verdi Trieste.

Salas once again joins a cast that includes Regula Mühlemann, Amartuvshin Enkhbat, Gianluca Buratto, and Martina Belli. Marco Armiliato conducts the production of Mario Martone.

Korchak returns to the production on Oct. 22, 2025.
