
Cast Change: Galeano Salas Steps into Teatro Alla Scala’s ‘Rigoletto’ Production
By Francisco SalazarThe Teatro alla Scala has announced a cast change for the opening performance of Verid’s “Rigoletto” on Oct. 7, 2025.
The company said, “Due to illness, Dmitry Korchak has to withdraw from the performance of ‘Rigoletto’ on 7 October. The role of the Duke of Mantua will be performed by Galeano Salas.”
Salas has performed at the Bayerische Staatsoper, Arena di Verona, Teatro Regio Torino, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, the Opéra Royal de Wallonie-Liège, Semperoper Dresden, and Teatro Colón. He has performed the role of the Duke at the Hungarian State Opera and Teatro Verdi Trieste.
The tenor is set to join a cast that includes Regula Mühlemann, Amartuvshin Enkhbat, Gianluca Buratto, and Martina Belli. Marco Armiliato conducts the production of Mario Martone.
Korchak returns to the production on Oct. 10, 2025.
