
Cast Change: Federica Lombardi Out, Nadine Sierra in at Wiener Staatsoper’s ‘Luisa Miller’
By Francisco SalazarThe Wiener Staatsoper has announced a cast change for its production of “Luisa Miller.”
The company noted that Nadine Sierra will sing the title role, replacing the originally announced Federica Lombardi.
Sierra first performed the title role in concert at the Teatro San Carlo. This season, she is set to open a new production of “La Sonnambula” at the Metropolitan Opera and will also sing “Romeo et Juliette” at the Teatro Real, “Rigoletto” at the Bayerische Staatsoper, and “La Traviata” at the Teatro alla Scala.
Sierra is set to join a cast that includes Freddie de Tommaso, Roberto Tagliavini, Daria Sushkova, Andrea Mastroni, and George Petean. Michele Mariotti conducts the production by Philipp Grigorian.
“Luisa Miller” is set to open on Feb. 7, 2026.
