The Teatro Real de Madrid has announced a cast change its production of “Manon Lescaut.”

The company said, “Due to health reasons, Brian Jagde has had to cancel his appearance in this production.”

As a result, “His role, The Chevalier Renato des Grieux, will be played by Michael Fabiano and Jorge de León on the dates specified in the Cast and Performances sections of this page.”

Fabiano will perform on Sept. 23, 26, 29, Oct. 02, 05, 08, 11 while De León will perform on Sept. 24, 27, 30, Oct. 03, 06, and 09, 2026.

Fabiano will perform alongside Sondra Radvanovsky while De León will perform alongside Saioa Hernández.

Jagde returns to the stage for the Bayerische Staatsoper’s “Ariadne auf Naxos.”
