Washington Concert Opera has announced that tenor Anthony León will replace Duke Kim in the role of Nadir in its upcoming production of Bizet’s “Les Pêcheurs de Perles.”

León, a recent recipient of a 2024 Richard Tucker Career Grant, recently appeared at Lyric Opera of Chicago as Ferrando in Mozart’s “Così fan tutte” and is set to sing Fenton in Verdi’s “Falstaff” at LA Opera this spring before making his Glyndebourne debut this summer

He joins a cast that stars Emily Pogorelc as Leïla, Will Liverman as Zurga, and Christian Simmons as Nourabad.

The performance is set for Saturday, March 14th, 2026 at 6p.m.,
