Cast Change: Anna Caterina Antonacci Joins Opéra Royal de Wallonie-Liège’s ‘La Voix Humaine’

The Opéra Royal de Wallonie-Liège has announced a cast change for “La Voix Humaine.”

The company said, “Kristine Opolais, originally slated to play Elle, has withdrawn due to health reasons. We wish her a speedy recovery and hope to see her back on our stage soon. The role will be taken over by Anna Caterina Antonacci, whom we warmly thank for her generosity.”

Antonacci has performed the role around the world including the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Verberi Festival, Teatro Comunale di Bologna, and Teatro Petruzzelli, Bari.

Poulenc’s opera will be performed alongside Benoît Mernier “Bartleby” with a cast that includes Patrizia Ciofi, Edward Nelson, Damien Pass, Santiago Bürgi, Bruno Resende, and Gustave Harmegnies.

Karen Kamensek conducts the new production by Vincent Boussard.

The new production opens on May 13 and runs through May 21, 2026.
