Carmela Remigio & Antonello Manacorda Headline Teatro la Fenice’s Mahler Program

By Francisco Salazar

Antonello Manacorda returns to the Teatro la Fenice for a Mahler program.

The Italian conductor will conduct Mahler’s Fourth Symphony with the participation of soprano Carmela Remigio, who sings the solo part in the fourth movement.

The concert will stream on Feb. 21 on the www.teatrolafenice.it and the company’s YouTube page for free.

The concert will mark Remigio’s return to the Teatro la Fenice where she was scheduled to perform “Faust” and “Rinaldo” last season. The soprano recently appeared in a concert production of “Belisario” with the Donizetti Opera Festival.

The concert marks the first of four similar events at the Teatro la Fenice. The company is set to present Juraj Valčuha conducting a Debussy and Mussorgsky program followed by another showcase with Claudio Marino Moretti. The final program of the series will be conducted by Ton Koopman.
