Carlos Chausson to Retire from the Stage
By Francisco SalazarCarlos Chausson is retiring from the stage after a 40-year career.
The 72-year-old Spanish Bass-baritone will retire performing “La Commedia è (in)finita” at the les Arts in Valencia alongside Ramon Gener.
The play will be performed on Oct. 14 and 16, 2022 in co-production with the Gran Teatre del Liceu de Barcelona.
Chausson has at many of the great opera theaters in the world including teh Royal Opera House, Zurich Opera, Teatro alla Scala, Gran Teatre del Liceu, Wiener Staatsoper, and Opera de Oviedo, among many more.
He is known as a buffo singer whose repertoire includes the works of Mozart, Rossini, and Donizetti. He has also performed in Zarzuela. Recently Chausson performed at teh Gran Teatre del Liceu in a production of “Don Pasquale.”
