Cantata Singers Unveils 2025-26 Season

Cantata Singers has unveiled its 2025-26 season.

First up is the “Boston Choral Festival: To the Hands” at Old South Church. Headlining the performance is Caroline Shaw’s eponymous “To the Hands.” The program will feature the ensemble working alongside students from local high school choirs.

Performance Date: Oct. 17, 2025


Then comes “Zemlinsky’s World: Brahms, Berg, Schoenberg, and Korngold” as part of the Chamber series. This performance takes place at the Follen Church in Lexington.

Performance Date: Nov. 7, 2025


Closing out 2025 is Händel’s “Messiah” at Sanders Theatre in Cambridge.

Performance Date: Nov. 23, 2025


The company launches 2026 with Stravinsky’s “Les Noces,” a piece for four pianos, percussion, chorus, and soloists. This performance takes the stage of Hougton Chapel at Wellesley College.

Performance Date: Feb. 7, 2026


Then comes a performance of “St. John Passion” at Needham Great Hall.

Performance Date: March 14, 2026


There will be a Chamber Series showcase, this time “The Russian-French Connection,” showcasing works by Mussorgsky, Berlioz, Stravinsky, and Tchaikovsky. This one will be presented at Follen Church in Lexington.

Performance Date: March 27, 2026


Closing out the season is Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 alongside the Brockton Symphony Orchestra. One performance is headed to Buckley Performing Arts Center in Brockton, while a second takes the stage of the Sanctuary at First Church in Cambridge.

Performance Date: May 16 & 17, 2026
