Cantata Singers Announce Second Annual Boston Choral Festival

By Afton Markay

The Cantata Singers are set to present the second annual Boston Choral Festival on Oct. 17.

Music Director Noah Horn will lead the Festival, which centers on Caroline Shaw’s “To the Hands,” a work focused on human reflection on shelter, empathy, and belonging. Other works on the program are Dietrich Buxtehude’s “Ad manus from Membra Jesu Nostri” and Shawn Kirchner’s “Unclouded Day.” The Cantata Singers will be joined by nearly 100 local high school students in the performance.

During the Festival, the Cantata Singers and high school choirs will participate in workshops led by teaching artists and conductors before taking the stage alongside the ensemble in the evening performance.

The Boston Choral Festival will take place at Old South Church and begin at 7:30 pm.
