
Canadian Opera Company to Present ‘Eugene Onegin’ in Legendary Production
By Francisco SalazarRobert Carsen’s beloved production of Tchaikovsky’s “Eugene Onegin” returns to the Canadian Opera Company.
The opera will be performed seven times at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts between May 2 and 24, 2025.
Speranza Scapucci conducts the COC Orchestra with a cast that includes Australian soprano Lauren Fagan as Tatiana and Andrii Kymach as Onegin.
They will be joined by tenor Evan LeRoy Johnson as Lensky, mezzo-soprano Niamh O’Sullivan as Olga, mezzo-soprano Emily Treigle as Filipyevna, Bass Dimitry Ivashchenko as Prince Gremin, and mezzo-soprano Krisztina Szabó as Madame Larina.
Peter McClintock will revive the legendary production which has been seen at the Metropolitan Opera, San Francisco Opera, and the Washington National Opera.
